MEMBERSHIP of the Vale of Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association has quarupled since the formation of the Vale 100 Action Group, members were told at a seminar last week.
And the results have included improvements to some of Evesham's annual festivals and the introduction of several new initiatives, said chairman Vernon Powell.
He also welcomed the Association's amalgamation with the Bengeworth Traders Association. "This is a significant development as the interests of the town are now under one umbrella - strengthening VECTA's role and voice."
Membership also includes the Broadway Traders Association and businesses in the Blackminster Business Park and elsewhere in the Vale.
VECTA is now awaiting the final plans for the town centre redevelopment before formulating a formal response to the planners.

Interesting seminar next week up in Stourport. There are huge benefits out there for business and not just in the traditional areas that tend to be focused on building contracts & supply chains. There are cultural elements, and things such as the blossom trail, asparagus festival etc can all benefit from the Olympics
