The Town Centre Forum has now met 3 times - this comprises members from VECTA, the police, youth services, nightclubs/pubs and retailers.
The £250 Flood Recovery grant has now been paid to all VECTA members whose businesses were severely affected by the floods - £1500 in total. An Open Forum event entitled 'New Beginnnings' is to be held on 31 January 2008. The Bengeworth Bench has been ordered with a plaque commemorating the July 2007 floods! VECTA has made representations to the Town Council about the proliferation of fly posting in the town. Wychavon are taking action and responding to reports. The Asparagus Festival will now be known officially as the BRITISH Asparagus Festival - thanks to Angela Tidmarsh. A meeting with Wychavon Planners on 7 November,to present and discuss the High Street Enhancement Project, was called off at the last moment by Worcs. County Council. The plans have gone back for amendment. A further meeting arranged for 5 December also had to be postponed. Worcs.County Council now hope to be able to present proposals at a meeting in the Town Hall on 9 January 2008.
